Real Estate Tax Levy - Calendar Year 2019

Please take notice that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Page, Virginia, will conduct a public hearing in the Page County Board of Supervisors Room, 103 South Court Street, Luray, VA 22835, at 5:00 p.m., on April 23, 2019, for the purpose of receiving public comments and to consider the proposed real estate tax levy for calendar year 2019.

2018 Levy - $0.70

2019 Proposed Levy - $0.75

The levy is per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation at fair market value.

The Notice is given pursuant to § 58.1-3007 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended.

Special Use Permit Requests

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, that the Page County Board of Supervisors shall hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., on May 7, 2019, in the Board Room, located in the County Government Center, 103 South Court Street, 2nd Floor, Luray, VA, to receive public comments and to consider the following requests:

Edson Reid, Jr. has filed an application for a special use permit for property located at 149 Sharon Drive, Shenandoah, VA, and further identified by tax map #96A2-1-C29. This property is zoned as Residential (R) and contains 0.7062 of an acre. The applicant is proposing to place a manufactured home on this lot, which is located in the Land of Shenandoah Subdivision. Pursuant to § 125-11 D.(3) of the Page County Zoning Ordinance, a manufactured home in a subdivision zoned Residential (R) is only permitted by a special use permit.

Gary Cubbage has filed an application for a special use permit for property located at 575 River Road, Stanley, VA, and further identified by tax map #70-A-117B. This property is zoned as Agriculture (A-1) and contains 54.866 acres. The applicant is proposing to operate a commercial sawmill, commercial chipping mill, and commercial shaving mill. Pursuant to § 125-10 D.(11) of the Page County Zoning Ordinance, commercial sawmills, commercial chipping mills, and commercial shaving mills are only permitted by special use permit.

Brian Stanley has filed an application for a special use permit for property located at 151 Sandy Hook Road, Luray, VA, and further identified by tax map #32-A-29A. This property is zoned as Agriculture (A-1) and contains 1.23 acres. The applicant is proposing to operate a home occupation that will offer used lawnmower (and other related lawn care equipment) sales and service in an existing detached garage. Pursuant to § 125-15 B.(1)(e) of the Page County Zoning Ordinance, home occupations in an accessory building require a special use permit.

Note: Hearing impaired individuals who need an interpreter must notify the Zoning Office at least seven (7) days prior to the hearing.
